Want to Be Onboard First? Utopia of the Sea's Maiden Voyage Is Slated For July 2024

Yet another thrilling space for kids on board Utopia of the Seas℠ is the Wonder Playscape, which features slides, climbing walls, puzzles and other interactive features for kiddos. The space was completely reimagined for this ship, so you can expect surprises even if you've experienced the Wonder Playscape on board another ship in the past. In addition, the ship will have a 10-deck-high Ultimate Abyss dry slide attraction that's 43 feet longer than similar slides on several other Oasis-class vessels. At 236,857 tons, Wonder of the Seas is currently the biggest cruise ship in the world. With planned delivery by the end of May 2024, the ship's Maiden Voyage was initially scheduled to depart on July 22, 2024 (4-night itinerary to Nassau-CocoCay). The inaugural cruise was priced (per person with double occupancy) from US$1112 (Interior), US$1152 (Oceanview), US$1217 (Balcony), and US$2686 (Suite).

The second sailing will depart on July 22, 2024 and will be a 4-night cruise to The Bahamas. It has the potential to reduce carbon emissions by around 30%, sulfur emissions by nearly 100%, and nitrogen oxide emissions by around 85%. Moreover, she will have a capacity of 5,668 passengers at double occupancy split between 2,834 staterooms. As an Oasis Class ship, she will be smaller than Icon of the Seas; however, that does not mean that the ship will not be packed to the brim with ways for passengers to relax, dine, and more. The ship will also feature the signature FlowRider surf simulator, a 10-story-high zip line, a rock climbing wall and Utopia Playscape climbing structure and play area.

If you're traveling with older teens or exclusively adults and want to stay close to the Solarium, consider a Solarium Suite — a new suite category only available on Utopia of the Seas℠. That said, the crown jewel of staterooms and suites on board Utopia of the Seas℠ is without a doubt the ship's Ultimate Family Suite. Utopia of the Seas℠ offers the cruise line's award-winning Adventure Ocean® Youth Program, which provides full days of supervised activities and entertainment for kids aged three through 11 — all complimentary to cruise guests. Cruisers bringing babies along can take advantage of the Royal Babies and Tots℠ Nursery, offering care for the littlest guests for a fee. And if you're cruising with teens, they'll be happy to know this larger-than-life ship has a swanky cool hangout with daily programming (think disco parties and game nights) they can experience with others in their cohort. Utopia of the Seas won't be the first Oasis-class ship to sail short cruises.

June 2023 – Whether it’s days by the pool or the beach, both can be found on the ultimate getaway with Royal Caribbean’s new Utopia of the Seas. Complemented by Perfect Day at CocoCay’s white sand beaches, the vibes across the new ship’s five pools range from upbeat to lowkey for everyone. Highlights include resort-style pools that come to life with the lively Lime & Coconut bar, three-story waterslides at The Perfect Storm and spots to grab a bite to eat like the new poolside food truck.

Members of Royal Caribbean's Crown & Anchor Society loyalty program will be able to book initial sailings for Utopia of the Seas starting Thursday. Each of the Oasis-class vessels has three separate pool areas, a kiddie splash zone, a surfing simulator, a miniature golf course, a basketball court and even a zip line. While Icon of the Seas is the first of an all-new class of ships for Royal Caribbean (the Icon class), Utopia of the Seas is just the latest ship in the line's 14-year-old Oasis-class series of vessels.

Quickie cruises will be the focus for giant new Royal Caribbean ship

According to Mr. Bayley, Royal was the top brand in the Chinese cruise market by volume. The one cruise market that Royal Caribbean has not resumed service yet is China, but the company is looking at mid-2024 for that to occur. Mr. Holtz said customers new to Royal Caribbean Group brands as well as customers first-time cruisers all together "significantly exceeded 2019 levels." In the first quarter, the percentage of guests who were either new to brand or new to cruise surpassed 2019 levels by a wide margin. According to Mr. Liberty, about two thirds of guests are now booking pre-cruise add-ons before their cruise begins. The beach club's capacity will be around 2,500 to 2,750 passengers per day.

If you're cruising with adults or planning to take advantage of the ship's convenient evening childcare options so you can enjoy a night out on deck, you'll find plenty of bars and venues to keep you occupied into the wee hours. Hosting a live band every night that delivers a hip-swinging medley of sultry salsa, samba and merengue classics, Boleros also mixes legendary mojitos. Two of my other favorite free restaurants are Sorrento's Pizza, an open-late spot that serves up perfection by the slice, and Dog House, known for its yummy artisanal brats piled with all your favorite toppings. If you're a brunch lover like me, you'll find plenty to rave about at The Mason Jar, a Southern-inspired specialty restaurant that highlights hearty eats from the bayou and the Low Country. Standouts include crispy chicken paired with fluffy waffles, decadent cinnamon rolls, smoky BBQ and incredible lobster and crawfish gumbo.

These accommodations will include 80-inch LED TVs that provide live views from outside the ship. Entertainment venues like the casino and comedy club will be in the aptly named Entertainment Place, and the vessel will also feature the exclusive Suite Neighborhood for suite passengers. Royal Caribbean also revealed on Tuesday that Utopia of the Seas would have 2,834 cabins and the capacity for 5,668 passengers, based on double occupancy. Icon of the Seas also will boast a number of buzzworthy new features, as you can see in our sneak-peek video below. TPG's video team got exclusive access to the ship in May at the shipyard in Finland where it's being built. Putting one of Royal Caribbean's newest and most amenity-filled ships on short-cruisers will let the line "make that first impression, the best impression" with first-time cruisers, she added.

Utopia is nearly 330 ft (101 m) longer than RMS Titanic and 165 ft (50 m) longer than Eiffel Tower (Paris City). The liner has several promenades, 1x FlowRider, 2x Rock-Climbing Walls, an Ice-Skating Rink, world's largest theatre at sea. Utopia is set to be 10 feet stubbier, two decks shorter, and 13,940 gross-tons lighter. Every weekend-maxing cruise on Utopia of the Seas℠, our newest Oasis Class ship, sets out to the award-winning Perfect Day at CocoCay.

You'll find more than 20 unique dining venues on board, including brand-new concepts. At the Windjammer, you and your family will have over 200 incredible dishes to choose from every night of your sailing, not to mention delicious breakfast, brunch and lunch options, totally free of charge. The casual restaurant has more than 1,000 seats, so you never need to worry about snagging a table for you and your crew. Launched in 2009 with the debut of Oasis of the Seas, the Oasis-class ships have dominated the world of megasize cruise ships since that year.

Central Park houses the redesigned Japanese restaurants "Izumi Hibachi and Sushi" and "Izumi in the Park" (sushi-to-go). Izumi in the Park (adjacent to the Izumi Restaurant) has a new window serving fresh-made sushi and traditional sweets. Unlike Wonder OTS, Utopia is LNG-powered, so she has 50 fewer staterooms (2824 instead of 2874) to allow the space needed for the LNG (liquefied natural gas) tanks.

The Royal Loft Suite is one of the most indulgent suites in the Royal Caribbean® fleet. A master loft and a downstairs bedroom offer private spaces for up to six guests. Indulge in style from the expansive living room — or the private balcony with whirlpool, tv and minibar.
